ABSTRACT

The Carbon Disclosure Project serves as a form of secretariat for institutional investors seeking information on the risks and opportunities presented by climate change and particularly the greenhouse gas emission profiles of the world's largest companies. The argument linking the common heritage of mankind concept with global equity proved so popular that it became the mantra of the group of developing countries throughout the period of the negotiation of the third UN Law of the Sea from 1968 to 1982. One of the main challenges in the design and operation of common property regimes is how to determine the right amount of resources that can be exploited per time in order to allow users to have optimum benefit from the resource pool without degrading the resource. The ultimate aim of parties is to combat desertification and mitigate the effects of drought in countries experiencing such problems.
