ABSTRACT

Aimee Semple McPherson at Victoria Hall was remembered by those present as being very good looking and she dressed always in a white uniform. When asked how Aimee was different from other Pentecostal evangelists of the same period, a person remembered, She was a most marvelous, articulate, beautiful [woman] how she could bring the Word of God out and full of the power and of course you know, there werent too many women evangelists in those days and she just shone like a star, the Lord used herespecially in healings she was magnetic, you could not help but love her. Aimee's host pastor in San Francisco, the Reverend Robert J. Craig, accurately predicted her future when he declared that she has before her a ministry of an unusual order. And in the words of the writer John Fante, all of California, north, south and central valley, seemingly belonged to Aimee, as well.
