ABSTRACT

Of all the world’s religions, Christianity is the one that has been the most concerned about belief. While some other faiths pride themselves on being ‘a religion without dogma’, Christianity has taken pains to define its teachings in a variety of creeds and confessions of faith. ere have been times when Christians have taken such pains to defend orthodox doctrines, when they have made a point of defining unacceptable heresies, and even excluding those who have subscribed to them.
