ABSTRACT

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and micro-SMEs play a central role in the European economy. SMEs is one of the European Commission's priorities for economic growth, job creation and economic and social cohesion. BIM processes are agnostic and scale down to fit SME and micro business models deserves equal coverage, rigorous scrutiny and evaluation. BIM target, the standard defines three specific areas which must be addressed to enhance the production information process: roles and responsibilities, Common Data Environment (CDE) and Standard Method and Procedure (SMP). Data which the client requires as deliverables from the CDE at defined milestones during project development will need to be identified and incorporated into the Employer's Information Requirements (EIRs). The Common Data Environment (CDE) serves two key purposes: to act as a repository for collaborative model data and to host project deliverables, such as 2D drawing files saved as model views.
