ABSTRACT

This chapter uses third-party 3D models created in LightWave 3D to create the sci-fi battle scene. In this tutorial it will be desirable to keep the models independent in their own 3D layers, which will not tax as much of their resources. People are now going to integrate the 3D characters into a photo composite that is an image of a waterfall with stone structures integrated into it and a misty sunset haze. They add some painting techniques to fade the 3D objects into the mist. Now, let's reduce the saturation of the war machine by adding a Hue and Saturation adjustment layer as a clipping path. Less-saturated objects visually recede the war machine toward the background. Finally, let's place the stone protrusions to appear as if they are in front of the war machine.
