ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the project that made a significant impact, both professionally and personally, on a whole staff team in Croftamie Nursery in rural Stirling. Learning Group infected a whole learning community and continues to leave its traces to this day. It was this project and experience that helped us to reach new understandings about working with pedagogical documentation. The educators from the Learning Group consulted the children about how they could learn about light and dark. They had been creating a short animation using objects to hand such as a Duplo brick and some wild animals. The children were fascinated with this whole experience and Marcus, one of the children in the Learning Group, was so enthused about seeing a real owl that over a period of time. The technology skills that the children developed were considerable and they all delighted in how it was able to animate their story as well as resulting ultimately into a published book.
