ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the 'Powerful Images, Visible Learning' to improve the quality of photography taken by staff at nursery establishments in Stirling by working with an experienced artist who had an understanding of working with children, who could support and inspire staff and children. Baker Street Nursery in Stirling hosted a project led by The Lighthouse, Scotland's centre for design and architecture, with a team of designers working across a range of disciplines from sound design to interior design. Brian encouraged us to think about taking images from different points of view, different perspectives, and different levels. Marcus was extremely enthusiastic at the activity and participated energetically creating lots of dramatic movement and many photographs were taken of the sequences of movement capturing the activity in detail. The Interim Report recorded the feedback from the staff teams after completing the process which was very positive.
