ABSTRACT

In light of current advances in educational technology, this time could be viewed as a golden age of photographic education. Because at no other time have there been so many valuable resources for teachers of photography. Never has there been such a wealth of accessible high-quality educational technology, or "Ed-Tech", offered for facilitating every aspect of a photography curriculum. The definition of Ed-Tech broadly includes hardware, like classroom computers, high-resolution projectors, smart boards, and clickers. It also includes software used as part of a course, either housed on a computer or accessed online. In addition, Ed-Tech includes any kind of application or website used to deliver course content, provide resources for learning, or introduce practical methods designed to enhance instruction and learning. Students who wanted to learn photography had to study with a teacher who was the embodiment of knowledge contained in the textbook. The teacher was the expert in camera operation, lighting, image editing, print presentation, and critique.
