ABSTRACT
This short essay discusses a prize-winning submission to the Downsview Park Competition in Toronto, Canada by Bruce Mau Design, Rem Koolhaas of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), Oleson Worland Architect, and Inside/Outside. Tree City contributes to the conversation about low density urbanism and suburbs in North America by offering a landscape-based model that is diffuse and spreading but not homogenous.
