ABSTRACT

This chapter builds on the earlier review done by Levy and her colleagues and seeks to make two contributions to the field. in contrast to Levy, Beechler, Taylor, and Boyacigiller, have undertakes a systematic review of the global mindset literature spanning nearly two decades in order to provide a description of the contemporary research knowledge in the field. By adopting a systematic approach to this review also opted for an approach that can hold grounds against the possibility of being biased. The chapter draws attention to distinctive knowledge gaps in current research and identifies opportunities for future research. It also presents the methods used in selecting the literature that has been reviewed. The chapter examines the thematic issues that the authors have studied in connection with a global mindset. The general studies of a global mindset were followed by industry-specific studies. Begley and Boyd examine how a global mindset impacts the competitiveness of high-technology multinational companies(MNCs) by interviewing 39 HR executives.
