ABSTRACT
The MMPI-A-RF is a new instrument for the assessment of psychopathology among adolescents that is heavily influenced by the structure and underlying concepts involved in the MMPI-2-RF. However, the development of the MMPI-A-RF also placed an emphasis on creating scales uniquely sensitive to adolescent developmental issues (e.g., Negative Peer Influences) and adolescent problem areas (e.g., Negative School Attitudes). Further, even though many scales share the same name or label on the MMPI-A-RF and the MMPI-2-RF, it would be erroneous to assume that these scales were identical. Many of these scales with shared names across the two tests differ substantially in terms of their item composition.
