The Share: Improvisation and Community in the Neoliberal University

On October 13, 2012, Guelph’s Exhibition Park was host to a “dynamic and uncommon dance and music event.”1 Anyone who passed through the area on that chilly, damp afternoon saw a host of local and Toronto-based professional and amateur musicians and dancers playing together under the trees of the park, and on the verandas, driveways, and lawns of the homes that immediately surround it.
