I. GOVERNMENT GRANTS TO VOLUNTARY AGENCIES TABLE E.29, below, which was furnished to the Inquiry by H.M. Treasury, shows the financial assistance given by Government Departments to voluntary bodies in 1946-1947. The term "voluntary" here indicates the possession of a substantial income from other than public sources.
