ABSTRACT

This chapter concretizes the distinction between essential consciousness and existential consciousness and explicates what it means to endeavour to work in the world. It determines the difference between the sphere of natural right, which makes ethics possible, and the sphere of Spinozan Love, which is the ethical mode for the multitudes of the world. The Spinozan theory provides hermeneutic machine for the interrogation of infinite power. The gravitational hermeneutic tool assists to understand its equivalent in thought, which Spinoza predictably introduces in EV on human freedom. The chapter focuses on absolute nature, and potentia, which is the mode of love passing across the multitude of finite machines locked in their general equilibrium. Love is always determining to a greater power of acting, yet there must be some determination as negation even if this determination does increase a machine's power.
