ABSTRACT
This chapter is focused on research issues in rugby union, rugby league, American football and Aussie rules as team sports distinguished by intense physical contact allowed by the rules of the game, and a continuous behaviour that aims to invade the opponent’s pitch and, consequently, gaining territory over the opponent. These special features justify the use of distinct performance indicators.
