ABSTRACT

CHAPTER OVERVIEW  This chapter will help Early Years Graduate Practitioners (EYGPs) and Early Years

Teachers (EYTs) to develop and reflect upon practice and leadership skills in

safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of children at risk or in need. It will

consider the practice and leadership skills necessary to promote children’s safety,

protection and well-being, and is based on the English legal and policy framework,

particularly The Children Act 1989 (CA) Sections 17 and 47.
