ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses quality on Projects In Controlled Environments (PRINCE2) for beginners. The quality theme supports the 'product focus' principle and addresses the quality methods and responsibilities not only for the technical products, but also for the management of the project. Only after establishing product quality criteria and quality control activities and resourcing can the full costs and timescales be estimated for the project, stage and team plans. The customer's quality expectations made clear in the project mandate at the very outset of the project. If it is not sufficiently clear, the project manager clarifies the expectations when preparing the project brief. The quality file should contain the quality register, the master copy of the product descriptions and the forms that are produced as part of the quality controls applied during the life of the project. A quality review is a peer review of the quality of a product against its product description, including its quality criteria.
