ABSTRACT

As we saw in Unit 1, in the present tense Swedish verbs nearly always end in -r. All regular verbs end in -r or -er throughout the present tense. When the stem ends in a vowel the verb adds -r:

åk/er

Regular infinitive forms end either in -a or another vowel: börja/ (to begin), åk/a (to travel), läs/a (to read), bo/ (to live).
