ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how social entrepreneurs develop and implement a successful business strategy in the construction industry. It discusses how to develop effective social enterprise strategy to deliver social value proposition. The chapter also discusses how to implement a social strategy effectively, covering issues like the appropriate timing of implementation and managing the many risks which could undermine the implementation process. The creation of an effective social enterprise strategy is not just about setting goals, thinking about resources and the governance systems in place to allow the business to operate. The successful implementation of a social enterprise's strategy is essentially about diffusion of social innovations into social system. So in implementing a new social enterprise strategy, it is critical that the social entrepreneur clearly understands the various interests at stake and how different stakeholders are likely to perceive the changes being proposed from their own personal perspective.
