ABSTRACT

The situations that Andrew Rhodes and Miguel Nussbaum occupy are very different, diametrically opposed across the globe, yet the challenges they face echo across that space. Andrew Rhodes is a British teacher working at the International School of Stavanger in Norway as director of technology, 'responsible for most things with a plug', as he puts it. Andrew Rhode's route to introducing the use of technology in his school was perhaps a little more straightforward, although there are parallels in bringing about widespread acceptance of its role. As a member of the board of the National Agency for the Quality of Education, Miguel Nussbaum wants to bring about fundamental change to the education system, reshaping how teachers work and use resources in every school at every level. Alongside shifting the emphasis from content, Miguel Nussbaum also wants to see improvements in the use of resources, the development of an orchestrated approach, the integration of conventional and digital resources.
