ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on how psychometric tools, such as Saville Consulting's Wave assessment, could be used in diverse applications, including leadership assessment and the assessment of entrepreneurial potential. It discusses new model of leadership effectiveness, and covers the background leadership literature which underpinned one's research. Saville Consulting's new leadership model expands on the individual differences, situational and people/task concepts which are commonplace in many existing leadership theories. The chapter explores leadership literature to provide a wealth of useful information that has been consolidated into the new model of leadership. The use of the Leadership Model helps to answer questions about both general leadership potential and leadership effectiveness in specific situations. The concept of the transformational leader has led to research focusing in greater depth on a leader's charisma and how they instil engagement and motivation in their followers. The chapter provides a broad overview of the leadership application and turned to entrepreneurship, in the form of a case study.
