ABSTRACT

The term narcissistic neurosis seems like a concession to a terminology that Jacques Lacan who was a French psychoanalyst and psychiatrist. When he did not oppose it, tried to render more rigorous, all the while noting that this was a Herculean task, comparable to the cleaning of the Augean stables. How to systematize a notion that Sigmund Freud an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis who first employed to describe psychosis but later became a subdivision within classical neurosis. Freud developed this notion in lesser-known texts, such as Introduction to Psycho-Analysis and the War Neuroses. It was in the sense that Freud had coined the concept non-sexual trauma, bringing it closer to the field of neurosis. Freud writes, narcissistic libido, that is to say, a mass of sexual energy that attaches itself to the ego and satisfies itself with this as otherwise it does only with an object.
