ABSTRACT

T h e Lunar Cult followed the Stellar Cult and was so called because the time was reckoned by the Moon instead of the Stars. Much of the Symbolism of the latter was brought on and merged into the former. The chief difference was a change of names and types, both of the Great God and His Attributes, and the method of reckoning time. Hitherto time had been reckoned by the Stars, Lesser and Great Bears, and Inundation: now it was measured by the phases of the Moon, and Taht was the recorder or measurer.
