ABSTRACT
Though some of the features of the typology of female body as elucidated in the previous chapter could be universal, they have their roots entrenched in the Thamizh culture. Figure 5.1 highlights from a cultural-anthropological perspective the relative positioning of women according to their social status and developmental stage.
