ABSTRACT
It has been said for a project to be regarded as successful it should be completed within budget, completed on time and display superior quality of design materials and workmanship. 1 However, projects do not go always go according to plan and are not always completed on time and within budget. As part of an architect’s duty of care and in the event that a project does not go to plan, an architect should be aware of his or her liability.
