ABSTRACT

Co-location is the decision to form a clear project identity and to bring the various participating organisations employed by the client together to form a single entity. Clients need to appreciate and understand the mutual respect needed to cement project team relationships, and the importance of engaging the most appropriate project people. The best project people propel the project to its end destination with passion. They generate excitement around project goals, and drive and energise other members of the project team to deliver consistently high standards and results that exceed expectations. The client and project team need to achieve a balance between the attributes of the project people and the nature of the project, over the life cycle of the project. There are specific issues that clients take into account when attracting and retaining smart project people. Mentoring and coaching across the project team can provide an opportunity to share concerns and issues outside the normal workplace environment.
