ABSTRACT
The mass movement of 2006 was a turning point in the history of modern Nepal. The power of the people was vindicated and the consequences of the movement have been unprecedented. The abolition of monarchy in 2008 was smooth, along with the holding of elections to the Constituent Assembly for drafting a new republican constitution. The significance of inclusive democracy was accepted.
