ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at changes in the social sciences and in the field of international relations as a result of an awareness of how gender matters. It looks also at changes in moral theorizing brought about by feminist perspectives, especially the development of the ethics of care. The chapter suggests changes in global political and social institutions that the ethics of care would recommend. It explores how feminists are rethinking global issues such as care and migration, global poverty and economic development, and the prospects for international law. It concludes with suggestions for how the ethics of care might lead us to rearrange global relations.
