ABSTRACT
The chapter focuses on the provision of urban public open spaces for recreation and enjoyment and that will include consideration of the provision of city parks, sporting fields and environmental reserves. While the use and development of these spaces cannot be divorced from the provision of private open space around residential housing these more domestic spaces will not be the subject for analysis.
