ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a List of cases that the author uses in the discussion and which readers may want to refer back to. They are listed in order of appearance in the text. Raj on the Rollercoaster: Raj is enjoying a rollercoaster ride. Suddenly, a bird flies into his face, which is very painful. After getting off the ride Raj is given some painkillers which numb the area and he feels no pain. Uppi and Downey are twins whose parents are tragically killed within hours of their birth and who are then separated and raised completely separately. Their lives take very different courses. Early years Uppi is raised in poverty and has severe health problems that are exacerbated by having to work full time cleaning factories to support her. The effect of this would be higher momentary well-being in childhood and lower momentary well-being in the child's dotage.
