ABSTRACT
WHILE it is realized that the division o f the periods and cultures of prehistory into Neolithic A and B, Early, Middle, and Late Bronze Age, and so on, is not ideal, no more satisfactory division has yet gained general acceptance; and therefore it seems best to retain the old scheme in this chapter.
