ABSTRACT
A historical reconstruction of the events of the later Bronze Age in the Balkan area is a difficult task, but the proximity of historical cultures and the archaeological evidence of change and upheaval compel us to attach here a brief consideration of developments in the area during the centuries succeeding the rise of the Mycenaean civilization, that is, the second half of the second millennium BC.
