ABSTRACT

Globalization has transformed the world so dramatically and so rapidly, it is not a surprise that long-standing convictions about what constitutes good global governance and how it should be implemented properly, are losing their relevance. Whether conventional global governance, instituted through the international system and its institutions, is to be praised or criticized remains a contentious debate. What is undeniable is the changing global governance landscape, with a dramatically expanding role for partnerships of all shapes and sizes, which requires an updated and refreshed approach to achieving good global governance. Building Global Governance Enterprises (GGEs) that can help fill the global governance gap is a promising approach that begins to reimagine what good global governance looks like. Hopefully, additional approaches to good global governance will be developing as a response to the renewed efforts of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address global problems.
