The European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT) 1 might very well be registered in Switzerland, 2 the organization is an official supporter of ‘Translating and the Computer’ conferences, held by the Association for Information Management (ASLIB) in London each year. The former president of EAMT and noted machine translation (MT) authority W. John Hutchins himself resides in Norwich, England. His Compendium of Translation Software is close to being the Bible of what actually is covered by the concept ‘translation software’ and arguably one of the most sensible approaches to the concept ‘translation technology’.
