ABSTRACT

In 1990 I was invited to talk on the then-new topic of “theory of mind” at a gathering of developmental scientists from Australia and New Zealand (the forerunner of today’s meetings of the Australasian Human Development Association). Unknown to me, my invitation was masterminded by Candi Peterson, whom I met there for the rst time.
