ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the author, Jessica Rosemary's life story and presents tips for Native American Students looking at higher education. Many things intimidate Native American students when Conquer intimidation comes to higher education. It seems that the jump from high school to college is huge, and it does take some time to get used to. The colleges and universities have support groups and usually have an employed counselor or person to help people move through any type of intimidation. Most colleges have a Native American advisor; make this person one's number one resource for help. The best way to conquer fear is to face it head on. Future Native American students are seeking out successful Native American stories all the time. Volunteer for local, state, or national Native American conferences and events or a local or college dance or powwow.
