ABSTRACT

The author moved to New York City when he was 18 to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts as an undergraduate drama major. He was convinced that he wanted to be a musical theatre performer. Since he had expressed an interest in musical theatre during his audition for the program, he was placed at the Actor's and Director's Lab for his studio work, which offered classes geared towards a musical theatre career. To be honest, it was probably best that the author didn't really know what a major figure Hannah Senesh, a Hungarian Jewish girl was in the modern dance world when he first worked with her. After the show closed, he continued to assist Anna with classes that she taught around the city, and kept learning more about her and the modern dance world. As he continued to work with and learn from her, the author gradually became more aware of her prominence.
