ABSTRACT
First, let's clear up some popular misunderstandings about male violence. Violence isn't a 'natural' expression of men's innate, warrior/hunter instincts. Instead, violent practices are a part of the social processes that produce masculinity within a male-dominated society. 1 And a very significant part of these processes is the regularly repeated, institutional violence met with in places like my secondary school.
