ABSTRACT

Open is an interesting and disruptive word to use about a corporate setting. Open Learning is one of the most provocative and rapidly changing elements of how corporate learning is being harvested, delivered, and packaged. The other side of open learning in corporate settings is access. Many companies have decided to open access to their learning programs to a wider set of populations. Some companies are integrating content from Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) or other higher education sources as part of their curricula. Additionally, organizations are using Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) videos as part of eLearning programs from traditional modules to extended viewing elements in development programs. Elliott Masie is the host of the annual Learning Conference in Orlando, Florida as well as the CEO of the MASIE Center a think-tank focused on the intersection of learning, education, and technology.
