ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the central aspects of the design of the study such as theoretical background and concrete research questions, methodical considerations, and research objects. It explains and interprets the main results of the research project. In the history of science, there is a concept which tries to combine these two challenges into a theory – namely, eclecticism. The idea of eclecticism goes back to the ancient world, but it can also be found in the history of education. The two textbooks are: Grundwissen Didaktik by Friedrich W. Kron, which was published in 2008 in its fifth edition, and The Systematic Design of Instructional Design by Walter Dick, James O. Carey, and Lou Carey, which was published in 2008 in its seventh edition. These textbooks are very successful in terms of sales and citation figures in their respective countries and represent their academic field in an exemplary way.
