ABSTRACT

Late on a Saturday afternoon in May 2014, at the end of a busy conference, participants gathered for a closing act of worship. It was the annual gathering of an organisation striving for greater inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* Christians in church and society. For me, and I think other participants, weariness melted away as a mainly Ugandan choir led the singing of the final hymn and a sense of joy and connectedness filled the imposingly built venue, Bloomsbury Baptist Church in central London.
