Play and Mathematics in Kindergarten

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS, 2010, p. 11) includes the following two objectives for kindergarten related to reciting and writing numerals:

“Count to 100 by ones and by tens,” and

“Write numbers from 0 to 20.”
