ABSTRACT

Humans are sexual beings from the beginning until the end of our lives. Sexuality encompasses physical, social, cognitive, moral, and emotional aspects. It can be essential to healthy human development but it also can have devastating adverse consequences. Sexuality education has been identified as an important method to maximize the positive outcomes and reduce negative effects; however, there is much controversy on what effective or appropriate sexuality education includes (Kirby, 2000). The main debate seems related to what sexual behaviors are considered to be appropriate or acceptable.
