ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the influential regional markets where television and serialized video content is bought and sold. Bogota Audiovisual Market (BAM) is organized by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce and Proimágenes Colombia with the support of Film Development Fund (FDC) to publicize Colombia's finished films, projects in development, audio-visual production services and locations. Launched in 1991, the DISCOP markets are regionally focused trade shows centered on pre-organized meetings between buyers and sellers of film, finished programs, formats, live events and packaged TV channels. Hong Kong Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) is jointly organized by HKTDC and the Hong Kong Televisioners Association (HKTA). Launched in 2007, 2016 saw over 801 TV-related companies specializing in animation, digital post-production, video games, and edutainment software exhibit to 7,362 visitors from 60 countries. In addition to workshops, screenings and networking events, World Content Market offers an online matchmaking tool to connect buyers and sellers with appropriate content and facilitate scheduling the appointments.
