ABSTRACT

The first major film market of the year, the European Film Market (EFM) launches the industry's annual trade circuit in early to mid February when industry players from all around the globe convene in Berlin, Germany for nine days. The market is always looking to expand their networking, access opportunities, and educational initiatives to promote relevant conversations, effective collaborations and provide platforms for projects in development. Being so focused on the art of film, it's appropriate that, in 2006, the EFM made its main home one of Berlin's premiere art museums, the spectacular renaissance building: Martin-Gropius-Bau. Launched in 2014, "Bridging the Dragon" was a three-year co-production platform that enabled European and Chinese producers to build stronger connections between their two territories. Meet the Docs is just like its title implies: it is an environment and slate of programming that promotes networking and exchange among buyers, sellers, directors and producers of documentaries.
