ABSTRACT
Ruth's description of the events which led to her head teacher's sacking illustrates how teachers can feel that the official policies which govern their work are not always in the best interests of the children they teach. Her head teacher was dismissed and all students are very angry. Ruth's school policy is the school pupils will pay some amount of money and it would be used to provide accommodation for their trainees. He took it to the PTA (parent teacher association) and they agreed that each pupil should pay one Cedi and this new policy was started. But some of the parents went to the office and said that a teacher is collecting money from them. Some students also felt angry because some of the parents, they don't want the best for their kids but they don't pay attention to the other policies. Officer humiliated head teacher but he has championed this school for so many years.
