ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in previous chapters of this book. This book identifies many of the new puzzle pieces and explains where they may fit in the complete picture of the IP- and file-based infrastructure and architecture. The goal is to help the reader understand many of the requirements to meet these new challenges. There are new considerations in the planning and design of an IP- and file-based broadcast and production facility. It's important to understand the changes the new technology brings and the impact it has on operations, workflow, and processes, including the physical design of the facility. The book takes a big-picture perspective in examining the entire lifecycle of media and the technology architecture, workflows, and business process that make up the broadcast and production file-based and IP ecosystem. Broadcast and production is an integrated environment and ecosystem of different technologies, services, and operations to create, produce, manage, and deliver programs.
