This chapter looks at a number of factors that contribute to the sense of belonging for students who have been moving much of their life. First, it attempts to establish the impact of constant movement on students and their sense of belonging. How can students be expected to make any meaningful attachments to a place if they are only there for a certain period of time and they know that the next place will be similarly transient? What sort of things do they miss about their home, if indeed they feel that they have one?
