ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts of the key concepts discussed in preceding chapters of this book. The book explores some of the negative connotations of drift. It reminds us of how complicated it is for educators to keep all the parts of a professional education from drifting apart. The book explores the experiences of students in the practice setting as they prepare to enter the practices of nursing and teaching. Although the book focuses exclusively on one field of professional education, that are explicitly comparative across disciplines. We compare students' learning experiences as they prepare for different professions. One similarity is in all three fields students spend learning in their respective field, acting as teachers, social workers, or nurses as they learn to be professionals.
