ABSTRACT

Hearing about PIDOP immediately gives rise to the supposition that there are links to the Council of Europe’s (CoE) work in the fi eld of education for democratic citizenship and human rights. To fi nd out more about this relationship, especially its differences, similarities and interconnections, it is necessary to fi rst describe the CoE’s work in general and its work on education for democratic citizenship and human rights (EDC/HRE) in particular.
